Lucy Katherine Palmer Hood
Lucy Katherine Palmer Hood, 93, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Hospice House. She was born September 11, 1918 to the late Mark and Eliza Palmer. She was a longtime member of the Wrens United Methodist Church and was a previous resident of Magnolia Manor, and a recent resident of Azalealand Nursing Home. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Woodrow Hood.
She is survived by two daughters, Ge-Juan Wilkes and her husband Dr. Leslie Wilkes, of Savannah, Marcelle Hood, of Thomson, GA, two sons, Charles Hood, and his wife Sandra, of Paonia, CO, and Palmer Hood, of Basalt, CO, one brother, Mark and Lala Palmer, of Greenwood, SC. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Lee Wilkes, and his wife Lisa, Mary Dawn Street and her husband Bob, Allison Hippensteil and her husband Brian, Rock Fulcher, Justin Hood and his wife Logan, and Natalie Stone and her husband Kyle, and eight great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Azalealand Nursing Home and the Care and Share Group of Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church for the love and care shown to Mrs. Hood.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 13, 2012 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, at Wrens Memorial Cemetery in Wrens, GA.
Remembrances may be made to Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190 Savannah, GA 31416.

I would love to take this time to say that it was a honer and a joy to work with Mrs. Hood 2weeks ago God and laid it on my heart to go by and see her she always told me to open my busniness and i came back to tell her that i did when i saw her face light up i know she was please about that i will always love her and miss her deary she was a great women of God and i know that God is well please with her job done here on earth.
